Cameron Jones joins Marcus Holden and friends for an afternoon of Cameron’s brilliant French style gypsy jazz guitar and jazz fiddle along with a a mix of classic folk and Americana classics.
Cameron Jones, guitarist, composer, festival director and educator, is based in Sydney, Australia. With his Selmer-style guitar, he harnesses the vibrancy of authentic manouche jazz. He uses percussive guitar rhythms to complement bright, expressive melodies. He joins with Marcus Holden and friends for an afternoon of Cameron’s brilliant French style gypsy jazz guitar and Marcus’s famous jazz fiddle. Alongside Cameron’s brilliant manouche style guitar, expect an eclectic mix of classic folk and Americana from this fablous group!
Cameron is a brilliant performer with a deserved reputation as one of the finest Django guitarists in Australia. After graduating with a degree in music in Australia, Jones returned to the source of the genre in France. There, he traced the footsteps of jazz legend Django Reinhardt. It earned him the finest training any manouche guitarist could hope for: mentorship from the late Reinhardt’s family and friends. The result is a rare depth of authenticity that Jones brings to his repertoire in Australia. He introduces songs with tales of original time and place. In the true spirit of gypsy jazz, nothing about Jones’ performances is repetitive. Audiences listen in anticipation as he follows each piece in the moment. It’s dangerously spontaneous.
‘I am most impressed with his understanding and execution of the Gypsy Swing style.’
Hank B Marvin | Lead guitarist for The Shadows

Joining Marcus Holden is his friend and long-term maestro Garry Steel. They have been playing together since they met in Tamworth during the Country Music Festival in January 1982. They have worked on well over thousands of recording and touring projects with the likes on Jimmy Barnes, John Williamson, Greme Connors, Warren Fahey and countless others. They have performed extensively in Europe, Asia and North America and are still in demand as Sydney’s top session musicians, and most recently, performed together at the Troubadour supporting Martyn Wyndham-Read and Warren Fahey. They may be joined by others, sich as David Seidel, double bass maestro, one of Sydney’s top working musos appearing regularly with jazz legends Peter Locke, Bob Henderson and George Wahingmachine. With his late sister Janet and Chuck Morgan he toured the world from almost 30 years.
+ Go-Twos

The Go Twos create a captivating musical blend merging their diverse musical backgrounds and passion for folk traditions into a unique and enchanting sound. Drawing from the rich traditions of Original, Folk, Blues, Bluegrass, and Celtic music. Rosie McDonald & Nigel Lever were individually well known in the Folk and festival scene, but it was the music they play together that shines with an intimate and heartfelt intensity. In forming the Go Twos, they were joined by the uber talented Quentin Fraser on Dobro and Guitar and Ann Palumbo on Bass & Vocals.
Collectively they weave vocal melodic lines with a rhythmic and driving pulse to reinterpret the folk song & tune tradition along with originals played with finger style & flat pick guitar, mandolin & bouzouki.
The Go Twos present a joyful antidote to current times. Sadly Nigel Lever passsed unexpectedly in late 2025, but his music and his inspiring spirit lives on. This is a joyful, yet poignant concert, the Central Coast release of their recently completed CD.
A fabulous double bill. Tickerts $25 Troubadour Members/ $30 General admission
