Two of Australia’s finest Vaudeville and Music Comedy Acts together for a unique afternoon of exceptional music and fun.
Mic Conway and Robbie Long

Mic Conway and Robbie Long present an hilarious array of idiosyncratic songs that will make your jaw drop, toes tap and sides split. Audiences who know Mic from his days with Captain Matchbox Whoopee Band with the hit song ‘My Wahini from Wangaratta’, and from Circus Oz and then the famous National Junk Band will be delighted by this duo incarnation: Mic as storyteller of tall tales and true, Robbie as the musical conjuror and comic sidekick. Two true national treasures in one act! There’s nothing quite like it anywhere. There’s magic, juggling, cavorting and that trademark tongue-in-cheek sense of humour. Stripped back, irreverent, and shameless… it’s surreal vaudeville for crooning and swooning. Unforgettable!
Nerds and Music

Nerds & Music are a remakable band made up in equal parts by Clark Gormley and Wayne Thompson who have been performing their original brand of quirky songs since 2008. They perform as a band made up of two cyborgs assembled by some deranged mechanic in his back shed in Newcastle. Their repertoire ranges from sea shanties about the national broadband network to meditations on the colour brown. Audiences have been rendered dumbstruck by their weirdness, witticisms, wordplay, and alliteration. The most typical response is tummy splitting laughter and huge grins expressing wonder and enjoyment.
If you think they look familiar, it might be that you recollect Clark’s brilliance as a contestant in the 2024 series of Mastermind Australia, “Australia’s toughest quiz”, on SBS. It was the first and quite possibly the last TV game show that he will ever take part in. He made it to the grand final. He is both astounded and proud of this achievement.
This is likely to be one of the best groups you’ve probably never heard of, or even imagined, before. But they’ve come a long way for this – all the way from Newcastle. Don’t miss your chance to see them live. Nerds prove that you can be exotic and brown, highbrow and lowbrow, stultifyingly deadpan and passionate, imbecilic and profound. And they have a higher word-count per song that just about anyone out there.
